Amityville sits just 40 miles from the hustle and bustle of New York City, but in the 1950s and 60s it had a simpler pace. It was truly a wonderful confluence of time, place and people where kids were free to grow up in a very natural way. These time softened memories recall a less structured childhood, quite different from the more purposeful school age environment of today. Less parental involvement and direction stimulated an organic approach to how we found our way through adolescence. The result was a rich set of experiences that made us what we are today.
Doug Robinson is a good friend, great father, and amazing grandfather. He lives with his wife and Amityville sweetheart Cindy in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania where he spends his time making things, running an antiques business, and hosting Chinese dinners and sock fights with his kids and grandchildren. He is well loved. This is his first book.
